Blog > Developments On The LM Network

Almost two years after our first small launch on Piczo and LM-TIPS is still going strong and getting stronger all the time. Our first take at the site only lasted a few weeks on Piczo before we became to limited on our design. Soon after we moved to 50webs where we trialed our site there for a while. Freewebs was our next stop for a few months before we shifted to fully paid hosting.

On hitting fully paid hosting we set our selves up to gain as much attention as possible and it worked. Thousands of you flocked in to view our site and we strived to get a new page almost every week. A new layout and then another brings us to our current situation.

Along with LM-TIPS we also have UR-SITE-HELP, LM-CURSORS (launched 1/1/08) and Speedway Blog. These sites are all run by me and owned by me. Put all together into one large group which we are calling the LM-Network. Our latest addition is LM-CURSORS which has not officially been oppened bt is online. Plans are for some point next year is to get a website online for computer help. Tutorials on how to use programs, how to clean your computer (physically aswell as on the hardrive cleaning), what programs you should or should not use. Reccommended Anti-Virus and much much more. Also plans for a shop to be placed within LM-TIPS (and our other websites) to sell related products from either our own custom stock or from a larger distributor. Obviously this is a very big decision to make and we will spend much time considering it before we finally accept or deny it. Obviously at first our shop would be selling our own products which would all be created for each customer, these would be most likely to be things such as font disks or website layout disks. Then moving onto such things as software, if we could get the reseller rights.

Currently in progress is also the selection of a suitable CMS system which will allow for faster and easier backups of LM-TIPS and other sites on our network. However none of the systems wi have tried so far are giving us enough freedom. If we do not find a suitable CMS system within the next few months we may try to develop our own system which would be fully suited to our needs and would also be a possible product for our shop after all licensing was passed on our ownership of the product.

Also at the moment we are developing a website using subsections of LM-TIPS which will allow users to create their own fully customizable websites, just as larger sites like piczo do. However we plan for ours to have either a web-builder for less experienced coders or a plain WYSIWYG editor which will allow the users to fully code their own website with their own layouts, giving much more freedom than Piczo or Freewebs. This plan is being developed with our host Dunbar Domains who have helped us grow through the years who would of course be providing the servers for it.

As you can see our network of sites is growing and will be one to watch out for in the future. So after saying this I think I should point out that advertising on the homepage of our website could be a very good idea for any small business or website. Also our host, Dunbar Domains says that if you sponsor us you will get a unique discount code which will give you a 7.5% discount on any of their hosting packages.
